I used to be a party boy in KL, now living serenely in a fishing village up north. No one cares about trends or techs. Even during lockdown nothing really changed and share market have no effect on the economy here.

My husband and I are moving to Ulu Yam too. To a tiny house about 400sf atop a small hill in the middle of a small forest. From a 3000sf+ 2storey semi detached house in Subang Jaya. We are retired and suddenly that house seems redundant with all the unused spaces. We only ever use the bedroom and the kitchen. All the kids are grown and left the house. So it just us both in that massive house. And you start to realise, you dont need a lot of things really. The grave will be smaller. So its natural to just start getting used to smaller spaces.

Am moving from KL to a smaller home in a small town too. Not having a job anymore, it makes no sense to stay in that overcrowded concrete jungle poisoned by consumerism and pollution.
From covid19 we should learn our lesson . I learned one thing that changed my life , as we are human we are made as survivor and not born in city so all our sense made for that , for example i always think businesses is hard and risky , after covid19 i have no job so i have to survive now im making twice the money and less hours from business im doing online as programmer. I think we human we have hidden feature we don’t know about cause our life style

Beautiful view, but let's face the fact that most people can't afford this tiny home nor the relocation. They've been to other countries, and have appliances most other houses don't have. And it took her father to gave her some land for it to be their location. I love the idea though.

They're very well-off where they are, especially considering how young they are, yet they've travelled and afford a home looking like the houses shown on foreign tv channels. Most people don't get to dream about anything close to this unfortunately. Hopefully, the coming years will bring prosperity to the country. But with people like them moving to the rural areas, it's obvious how bad it currently is.

Living a simple life, surrounded by nature and plenty of fresh air, is everyone's dream. The family is so blessed to attain this lifestyle that gives them immense pleasure and contentment. Their kitties are also happy too, as they get to explore the ample spaces. For now, daydreaming is the only thing we could afford, but who knows what tomorrow may bring?
Kudos to the grandparents (for land) and parents (for vision ans the will) to be able to make this happen. Taking an unconventional path to be able to save more for theirs and their children's future is fantastic.

In my case I can't cause KL is my kampung and I am literally from the city center. Born, bred, grew up and run my business here. I'm a true blue city boy but it is so refreshing to see from different POV.
it's truly what we make of it. living small in KL is possible too, but indeed there are a lot of temptations. public transport for example is only RM50 a month, and that alone can save a person Rm1k a month in car expenses.
This is very inspiring to me. I feel like escaping into this kind of living environment, too. But my greatest fear is mosquitoes. Surprisingly, I don't see your family having any problem sitting outside in the night having dinner. Tbh, do you have problems with mosquitoes or night insects?

Just few questions, how do you keep the mosquito away? not to mention wild animals and theft or intruder from stealing your equipment....how do you protect your sofa from rain especially in raining season..

Not necessarily true... Small towns like Kuala Selangor, Sekinchan, Sekinchan, places in Perak like Sungkai, Tanjung Mali, etc are very affordable still. Land is plenty there too.
Bila orang duduk kampung di panggil mentality kampung. Sekarang dah terbalik cuba bawa mentality good living bandar dan duduk di kampung. Thinking about its life styles living is not cheap. To get serene and loneliness can be very expensive.

It’s cool to see the architecture of the house especially the loft but let’s be honest, it must be quite hot to stay in the loft at daytime in our climate, even it’s surrounded by trees. That’s why they have air-conditioning all over the place.
I love the idea of this for me and my partner. But as others have said it is very selfish to impose this on your children, isolating them from their friends. Also they need privacy when they become teens
We're not isolated at all. Its understandable that it may seem as if its a bit too confined, but as someone who is living there, we're still able to go to school and make friends. Furthermore, I have the whole forest to myself. Compared to being in KL, living here is much better.
many dont know but we have a lot of youth and children community classes around the country, even some family who chose to go rural and opt for homeschooling- they have a pretty pact schedule 😂 even more curriculum than school and meeting more circle of people from all walk of life. i can attest these kids sees the world as an oyster of knowledge ❤❤❤ dont yuck our yum, we enjoy this life regardless

My home is 550 square feet at Shah Alam, expensive for me because it is a service apartment unit. Very inspiring, embracing the nature, i love nature.
